1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how ConstruC Inc. (“ConstruC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the ConstruC platform, including our website, mobile applications, and all related services (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), company name, job title, and profile photo. This information is used to identify you within the platform and communicate with you.
Project Data
You and your team create and store project-related data on the platform, including documents (RFIs, submittals, daily reports), project schedules, budgets and cost entries, tasks, photos, videos, meeting recordings and transcripts, drawings, inspection records, and chat messages. This data belongs to you (see Section 7).
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, device type, browser type, and IP address. This data is used to improve the platform and diagnose issues.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service: deliver the features you use, manage your projects, and maintain your account.
- Process payments: manage subscriptions, send receipts, and handle billing through Stripe.
- Send notifications: alert you about task assignments, document status changes, meeting invitations, billing events, and other platform activity.
- Power ConstruC Intelligence: our AI features process your project data to answer questions, generate reports, and extract information from uploaded documents. AI processing occurs only within your project scope and is never shared across projects or customers.
- Improve the platform: analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to understand how features are used and identify areas for improvement. We do not use your project-specific data for this purpose.
- Communicate with you: respond to support requests, send product updates, and notify you of changes to our terms or policies.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure maintained by reputable, industry-leading providers. We implement multiple layers of security to protect your information:
- Encryption at rest and in transit: all data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit.
- Access controls: project data is accessible only to members of that project. Role-based permissions (manager, member, viewer) control what each user can see and do.
- Firm-level privacy: when firms (subcontractors, consultants) collaborate on a project, their internal channels, meetings marked as internal, task comments posted to “firm only,” and unreleased document drafts are invisible to anyone outside the firm — including the project manager.
- Security monitoring: we conduct regular security assessments and monitor for unauthorized access attempts.
No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Backup
ConstruC performs regular automated system backups to protect against data loss. In addition:
- Project administrators may request recurring data backups delivered on a schedule of their choosing — monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly.
- Backups include all project data: documents, schedules, budgets, tasks, photos, and attachments.
- Backup preferences can be configured in project settings or by contacting our support team at info@tryconstruc.com.
Your data is your data. We ensure it is preserved and accessible to you at all times.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
- Active accounts: your data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
- After cancellation: your data remains available for 30 days following cancellation to allow export. After 30 days, data is permanently deleted from our systems.
- Deletion requests: you may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Legal obligations: certain data may be retained beyond the deletion period if required by applicable law, regulation, or legal proceedings.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your Project Data with other customers, advertisers, or data brokers. Your project information is yours alone.
We may share limited information with the following categories of third parties:
- Service providers: we use trusted third-party providers to deliver parts of the Service, including payment processing, email delivery, and AI-powered features. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of ConstruC, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: update or correct inaccurate information through your profile settings.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Data export: download your project data at any time through the platform’s export features.
- Objection: opt out of marketing communications by clicking “unsubscribe” in any marketing email or updating your notification preferences.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@tryconstruc.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies & Tracking
ConstruC uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party ad networks. We do not build advertising profiles based on your usage.
10. Children’s Privacy
ConstruC is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and understand that data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via the email address associated with your account. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
